"To Explore and Preserve our Planet"
Here is the new all time Adventure of the 21st century. For 17 years, we have been passionately exploring and filming our planet. Our mission has became more and more obvious throughout the years : we had to help bring awareness about the critical necessity to preserve Earth’s natural biodiversity and its incredible wonders for next generations.
Then our mission, beyond exploration, has been to take part into the education of the new generation to help them to think differently, to think outside the box, as Jules Verne did in his wonderful novels, from "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" to "Journey to the Center of the Earth." By sharing our passion and cultural tools, our experience and our spirit of curiosity, we can offer the young a new vision of the extraordinary world they live in. Let’s help them understand our planet, let’s stimulate their natural sense of wonder, curiosity, and imagination which also leads to self-achievement.

WHO : CHILDREN MEETING WITH EXPLORER-FILMMAKERS
The JVA Educational "Pocket-Theatre" is an interactive experience dedicated to children. Above all, it is an human experience.
Filmmakers interact with the children and vividly share their professional experience in filmmaking and exploration in order to broaden their curiosity and imagination.
WHAT : A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE PLANET
PART 1 : The film is the main tool. The film is a gate to children’s emotions and imagination which opens their minds and brings curiosity. The documentary screened is about exploration to a far corner of the Earth : (between 20 and 50 minutes).
PART 2 : The Q&A about Wildlife, extreme conditions, geography, history, film making and environmental notions.
The filmmakers help the children to better envision their place as human beings in the global biodiversity and at the same time how they can be an efficient part of its preservation on a daily basis.
A conversation with the children about their own projects also takes place. The film making experience is a tool to help make them understand the creation of a personal and collective project and its process until its final success.
The entire experience is also devoted to help children become more self-confident and to gain an optimistic vision of their own future.
WHEN : OPEN EVERY WEEK
Once a week, schoolchildren, organizations and charitable foundations are invited to experience the JVA’s Pocket-Theatre.
HOW : IT’S A COMPLIMENTARY, FREE ACCESS PROGRAM
presented by the JVA Organization and supported by Los Angeles City Councilwoman Jan Perry of the 9th District and Brookfield Properties.
THE JULES VERNE FESTIVAL
